On 17 – 21 April 2023, in Krakow University of Agriculture (Poland) within the project “Improving Higher Education Content in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to Support Sustained Quality Agricultural Production (AgroDev) Industries” was 619039-EPP-1-2020-1-LV-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP, funded by the European Union ERASMUS+ programme, held a study visit with participation of lecturers from the K.I. Skryabin Kyrgyz National Agrarian University, S. Naamatov Naryn State University, Tashkent State Agrarian University and Samarkand branch of Tashkent State Economic University.
On the first day of the study visit the participants visited the Institute of Catalysis of the Polish Academy of Sciences and took part in a workshop on the technology of bioplastics production from fat wastes of different origin. In the afternoon participants had a meeting with the administration of the University of Agriculture in Krakow with Prof. Andrzej Sechmann, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, and Prof. Bogdan Kulig, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Economics. Also Prof. Jacek Antonkiewicz gave a lecture on “Methodology and cultural aspects of teaching quality management systems in agriculture. International Soil Quality Standards”.
On the second day of the study visit a seminar on the production of dairy cattle, breeds of horses, cows and goats adapted to difficult climatic conditions was organised at the Odrzechowa Institute of Zootechnics Experimental Department. In the afternoon, the participants had the opportunity to visit the Jan Grodek State University in Sanok and meet with the Rector Mateusz Kaczmarski and university administration, where they discussed the possibilities of further cooperation. Later in the day the participants visited the open-air museum of folk architecture in the city of Sanok, where they got acquainted with the culture of the Polish-Ruthenian (Ukrainian) borderlands in the eastern part of the Polish Carpathians.
On the third day of the study visit the participants visited “Intermag”, a producer of fertilizers and bio-stimulants for crop and livestock production.
On the fourth day of the study visit the participants visited the JU-AAU Jagiellonian University Center of Veterinary Medicine and the Krakow University of Agriculture, where they took part in the seminars “Veterinary and zootechnical conditions in animal and sheep breeding” and “Technology of animal products and use of animal raw materials”. Discussed issues of joint research.
On the fifth day of the study visit, the participants visited the spin-off company of the ISO 17025:2018 accredited laboratory of the Faculty of Production and Energy of UAK, where seminars on the creation of system documentation in the accredited laboratory, on the introduction to biotechnological processing of organic waste and on the role of experimental stations in scientific research and didactics in higher education were held.
Participants received certificates at the end of the study visit.
